The boys of Mr. EHS 2017
24 will enter. Only one will be crowned.
Every year since 1998, EHS has hosted an annual male pageant known as Mr. EHS. Boys from different sports, clubs and organizations come together to put on a show and compete for the crown. While on the surface the concept may seem ridiculous, its mission is quite serious. All proceeds from selling the $12 tickets (over $5,000) goes directly to charity. StuCo members voted on the organization they wanted to receive this donation, and this year, the recipient is Siteman Cancer Center.
In the 20 years since it’s introduction, the show has been a hit, and it turned into one of the staple events of the school year. StuCo executives Maddie-Rose Ortinau and Katie Dames spent all year planning and coordinating. They have booked Miss Missouri 2016 Erin O’Flaherty to attend and emcee when showtime comes at 7:00 p.m., Jan. 26.
The theme “Eureka’s Next Heartthrob” plays off of the shows like “American Idol,” “The Voice” and “America’s Got Talent.” Tickets have practically sold out, and line-placeholders will be available after-school on Jan. 24.
The stage is set. All eyes will be on the 24 boys as they dance, sing and strut their way toward a victory. Click on each portrait to learn more about the contestants then click on the last box to vote on who you believe will be crowned this year’s Mr. EHS.
