Romacker Detailing, founded by Senior Riley Romacker, is a car detailing business that Romacker started on his own. His business contains three other high school students on the staff, Juniors Mason King and Nick Salby, as well as Senior Kyle Hunt. Romacker detailing specializes in high end paint correction and ceramic coatings. Not only that, but customers can also have the interior refreshed as well. “In today’s world the typical way to earn money is to trade the most valuable thing you have, which is time,” Romacker said. Even as a teenager, he is striving to meet his goals of “building an empire” early in life and has started to do so with this company. “No matter what age, you’ll always wish you started younger. But today is the youngest you’ll ever be,” Romacker said. Having only started his business in February 2024, Romacker Detailing has been doing amazing and will hopefully continue to only grow larger.
Senior Kyle Hunt runs 5 star Donut Delivery mainly on his own, with occasional help from his parents. His business allows people to order donuts from multiple locations ranging from Duck Donuts in Chesterfield, Mo. to Silver Spoon Donuts in Eureka, Mo., while also allowing people to mix and match donuts from different shops. He picks up the donuts from shops all over and delivers them directly to the customers house on weekends. “Since my parents both owned businesses, that kind of inspired me to start my own,” Hunt said. He uses his business to spread amazing donuts to the community and learning the ropes of owning a business.
Sophomore Tyler McClain, runs his own lawn mowing business called Mac’s Mowing and More. Customers can contact him through social media and he will find the best time to cut their grass. This is helpful because when he gets to the job, he already knows exactly what to do. Doing this all on his own, with only occasional help from his dad, Tyler schedules times, finds exactly what his customers want, and performs his job all at the age of 15 years old. “Slowly expand once you kind of get the hang of it and know what you’re doing,” McClain said. Starting off with only mowing his grandparents lawn and occasionally his neighbors yard, Mac’s Mowing and More now has grown to include many consistent customers. “I started off with using my dad’s equipment, every single thing. Weed eater, blower, mower, and I slowly started to work up,” McClain said. Now owning most of his own equipment, Tyler is an example of investing into the future with his dedication to his work. Even though lots of teens have tried earning money through lawn mowing, many don’t keep up with it, yet Tyler continues to see a path to earning money through lawn mowing.
