Eureka High School student, Caroline Conley, 11, recently made a big move for her future, committing to Lindenwood University to continue her soccer career.
For years, she has been putting in work on and off the field, including academics, and has exhibited leadership traits and talent. Her commitment is proof of her long term hard work and determination. Lindenwood’s success this past season piqued her interest when reviewing offers.
“They reached out in summer, and they definitely had my interest,” Conley said. “I wasn’t planning on staying that close to home but when I was actually able to be on the campus, I really liked it.”
With two seasons left with Eureka soccer, Conley is excited to continue playing with her teammates and continued success on the field. She’s looking forward to making memories with friends, and continuing to grow as both a player and a leader before she heads off to Lindenwood.
With former teammates from Eureka High School playing at Lindenwood, Conley will not be going into the soccer team alone. Mike Hanna, Eureka soccer coach and math teacher, is positive about the smooth transition from high school soccer to playing at the collegiate level.
“We’ve got a couple girls on the Lindenwood squad right now that she’s close with, so that’s going to be a huge help for her,” Hanna said.
Throughout Conley’s high school career, her qualities have been noticed by coaches and teammates alike. Her presence and skills are appreciated on the field.
“With club coaches and high school coaches, it’s been really good to have different coaching experiences,” Conley said. “The Eureka coaches were really helpful and gave me confidence.”
Overall, the Eureka soccer coaches are ecstatic about Caroline’s commitment are looking forward to the season.
”She’s been a great player. We’re excited for her, and we’re excited to have two more years here at Eureka before she goes to Lindenwood,” Hanna said.
