New staff: Mrs. Teresa Yakel, Social Studies
A new way of getting to know our new staff.
Here at EHS we take great pride in our staff, and now we can get to know them with their “Last ten.”
What was the last restaurant you ate at? “I went to Wendy’s last night.”
- Do you remember what you got at Wendy’s? “Chicken nuggets, french fries and one of the flavored lemonades. It was berry lemonade.”
- Do you go there a lot? ” Yeah, it’s close to my house, and it was close to where I was going last night, which was church. It’s a quick place, and it has healthy options for my kids. So that’s where I tend to go, the places with good kid menus.”
What was the last TV Show or movie you watched? “I watched ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ last night.”
What was the last thing you ate? “I had a banana at my desk and a granola bar.”
- Do you usually have a banana or granola bar for breakfast? “It’s not uncommon, but it isn’t my usual breakfast. I prefer to have a bowl of cereal, sit down and eat it as opposed to rushing through. That’s when I have to grab the granola bar or banana.”
- What kind of cereal do you usually eat? “I like Honey Bunches with almonds. That is my preferred cereal.”
What was the last thing you did at your former job or school? “I subbed last spring, I had a long term job at Crestview Middle School, for a sixth grade history teacher.”
Who was the last person you shared a phone call with? “My husband telling him I was on my way home last night.”
Who was the last person you hugged? “My girls this morning. I have two, a three year old and a one year old. I hugged them goodbye.”
- Do your girls go to preschool? “Yeah. My girls are 3 and 1, and I found a school where they can both go.They are in different classrooms, but they both go to a daycare/preschool program together.”
- Do they play any sports? “Not officially. I haven’t signed them up because they’re my babies. My 3-year-old has been taking dance classes. She will continue to do that. I’m hoping to get my one-year-old in some, too. They have both done swim classes. Just classes no formal-type teams or anything like that.”
- What are their names? “Claire is the three-year-old and Evelyn is the one-year-old. I call her Evy.”
- Do you have any funny stories about them? “Yes. Claire is potty trained, but she will go through these spurts where she doesn’t want to go poop in the toilet. I will smell something, and I’ll ask her if she pooped and she will say, ‘No, but don’t look in my underwear.’ That is usually a clue that she has lied to me, so we are working on that. That happens a lot at our household.”
What is the last store you went to? “I went to Schnucks on Sunday.”
- Do you usually go to Schnucks for your groceries? “Yeah. I know there are cheaper places, but the Schnucks is like half a mile from my home, so I go to that one all the time.”
What was the last soda you drank? “A Dr. Pepper today, and I am still drinking it.”
- Is Dr. Pepper your favorite type of soda? “Yes or Cherry Coke. If there’s Cherry Coke I’ll take that first and then Dr. Pepper.”
- Do you drink soda every day? “I try not to, but that’s what I drink instead of coffee. When I need caffeine I drink soda.”
What was the last out of state place you visited? “Texas this summer.
- What did you do in Texas? “We went for a wedding, but we used to live there, so we were visiting our old friends. We were bringing our girls because Claire was born there, but Evelyn had never been there. We were bringing her to meet everybody. Also my husband was a groomsman in the wedding, so that was the main reason we were there.
- You went with your whole family? “Yes.”
- How long were you there for? “About a week.”
Who was the last person you communicated with over social media? “I do that a lot. I put a facebook post up last night just to everybody. I was trying to send a message to some of my college roommate. I haven’t been successful getting through the filter, but that was my intention.”
