Boy’s golf with a strong season start

The Eureka High School boys golf season has recently started with their first tournament at the Missouri Bluffs golf course. They finished the tournament in first place.

Players such as Drew Steffan, 12, and Logan Forister, 11, have been putting in lots of work in the offseason

“I play every day, it’s really all I do, going to the range every day and hitting and putting or even just going to the gym, my goal is to get one percent better every single day,” Forister said.

There are many ways that the team will be put to the test this year.

“Our district is very tough this year, we are in a district with teams like Chaminade, CBC, SLUH and all those schools, in order to make it to state we have to get top twenty personally and to make it as a team we have to make it top two which is going to make it difficult, but I have hopes that we can do it,” Steffan said.

Players have very high hopes for this season, especially seeing the performance of the team in their first tournament without their star player, Drew Steffan.

“I think this year we are a lot deeper than we were in the last couple of years, we have seven or eight guys that can compete for a spot in the top five so we have actually done qualifiers for our tournaments, which we have never done in my first 3 years of high school golf,” Steffan said.
