Grace Daugherty grew up with her Mom and Dad and she is the third out of four
kids. She’s lived in St. Louis her whole life except when she went to Truman State
and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree. She enjoys working on arts and
crafts and spending time with her cat. In high school, Daugherty played for the soc-
cer team and was in school musicals.
”I like to go to sporting events and like to go see musicals and plays,” Daugherty
said. “So definitely reach out, invite me to that”.
Before coming to Eureka High School, she taught at Parkway West. Daugherty
has enjoyed her first weeks here and is looking forward to going to the football
games. She appreciates her coworkers and students for being helpful with the
learning curves of coming to a new school.
Jordan Cushman grew up with her mom and stepdad in South County. She went
to Oakville High School and started working managing restaurants. She managed
multiple locations and later decided to go back to school. She worked on getting
an education degree at Southeast Missouri State (SEMO).
“I did one thing for 15 years, and now I’m doing the next thing, hopefully for the
rest of my time working,” Cushman said. “Don’t feel so much pressure to have ev-
erything figured out. Sometimes it’s good to do what you really love later in life”.
When starting to apply for jobs, Cushman’s husband pointed out that Eureka
High School was hiring, and that he had graduated from here. When her applica-
tion was accepted, she and her husband moved closer. Cushman has enjoyed her
first few weeks here and loves the culture here and although it is different to her,
She finds it very welcoming.
Mary Green grew up in Wildwood and attended Lafayette High School. She
says she struggled in school until one of her teachers really took the time to get
to know her and offer her a safe space, which is what turned everything around
for her.
She initially went to Ole Miss and later transferred to Mizzou, where she grad-
uated from. Green taught at Rockwood Summit for a year and transferred to EHS
this year. When she’s not teaching, Green enjoys spending her time working on
art projects and playing Roblox. She’s very excited to be here and has enjoyed
her year so far.
“Everyone here at Eureka is so kind and nice,” Green said. “The culture is great”.
