Trash becomes art as Trenton Uffman (12) creates a fish out of bottles and cans he found in a creek in Mrs. Kari Smith’s 3rd hour AP art studio class, Oct. 17. Uffman’s piece symbolizes the growing issue of pollution in our streams affecting fish and other wildlife. “It’s a found-object sculpture, so it has to be objects that you find. There’s lots of trash in this creek next to my house, so I wanted to make a sculpture out of all the trash,” Uffman said. “The fish sympbolizes the creek and the fragile ecosystem.”
