Mr. Wilson talks to Emily Hoffmann (12) about tropical shirt day.

Mr. Steve Wilson, hall monitor, along with fellow hall monitors, are putting on a tropical shirt day tomorrow, Wednesday, May 13.

Every year around this time the hall monitors wear tropical clothes, and they are now hoping students and staff will join them.

“We’re encouraging everybody to wear some kind of Hawaiian shirts tomorrow,” Mr. Wilson said. “Finals are coming up, so we want to have some fun.”

Although finals are approaching quickly, students can pretend they’re in paradise for a day.

“I think it’s cool because usually we’re forced to do a lot of homework during the year, and all of our finals are coming up now, so everyone is stressed,” Dustin Aschinger (12) said. “I think it’s nice to have a break and relax.”

Ellie Vandewater (9) is ready to take part in the festivities.

“It’s awesome! If I can find something I’ll definitely do it,” Vandewater said.

Wearing a tropical shirt is a good way to participate and have some fun.

“It’s going to be a fun day. All of the hall monitors will be in Hawaiian shirts and shorts,” Mr. Wilson said. “If you get a chance, I encourage all of the students to wear Hawaiian clothes.”
