EHS Top 5: ROSE award winner, StuCo elections and a plane crash

  1. The boys varsity basketball team lost in the sectionals to Christian Brothers College, March 6. The Wildcats entered the game off of a 63-46 win to Parkway South, March 1. EHS had a record of  16-10, while CBC had a record of 21-7 before the game. Eureka fell to CBC, 62-30.
  2. John Wunderlich, guidance counselor, received the Rockwood Outstanding Service in Education award, March 6. Over 200 faculty members and volunteers throughout the district received nominations for the award. Afterwards, a committee selected 15 recipients. Congratulations to Mr. Wunderlich on your recognition!
  3. 2019-2020 Student Council Executive elections will begin, Monday, March 11. Students will receive a ballot in their school emails and should have viewed all 12 candidate speeches during fourth hour on Monday. Voting will close, Thursday, March 14, and winners will be announced by the end of the day.
  4. Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 crashed, killing all 157 passengers on board, March 10. The flight, headed for Nairobi, Kenya, carried passengers from at least 35 different countries but failed to ascend properly. The crash marks the second of a Boeing 737 Max 8 to crash in just five months, the last one being in Indonesia in October 2018. Flightradar24 reported the crash via Twitter.
  5. RSD Spring Break will begin, Friday, March 15. The EHS-hub will not be publishing content unless of breaking news until school resumes, Monday, March 25.
