    Powderpuff recap

    Powderpuff+recap

The muddy field was set for battle between the women of the Junior and Senior Classes of Eureka High School, Sept. 22, as the two sides squared off in a game of Powder Puff flag football.

The Juniors got off to a hot start as they drove the ball down the field for a Hannah Leinert (11) touchdown.

The Seniors were able to weather the storm and came back with a long touchdown run from Sidney Allen (12).

The game continued and the Seniors proved to be the much stronger team. Lead by Sidney Allen, Abigail Waddell (12), and Antonia Carter (12) they got out to a large lead the Juniors couldn’t come back from.

“All their lines were strong.” Allison Wallner, Junior Quarterback, said.

As the game came to an end the Seniors prevailed as they trounced the juniors 51-23.

Off the field a lot was going on during game. The stands were filled with students and parents who appeared to be cheering on the Class of 2012.

The Golden Guys were an act to see both on the track as cheerleaders and on the field for a halftime dance.

The golden guys enjoyed the event because, “it’s school spirit and Eureka’s got a ton of it,” David Dahm, Senior Golden Guy Captain, said.

The Captains of the Golden Guys were Vince Dotson (12), David Dahm (12), and Jeff Jinkerson (11). They were assisted by Sponsors Ms. Betsy Cuquet, Ms. Ellen Garner, Ms. Jenni Highfill, and Ms. Annie Schoessel.

The Golden Guys dance was choreographed by Courtney Black, Lindsey Friehoff, and Jenna Witkowski (12).

The fun eventful night came to a close with a pep assembly all leading up to Homecoming.
