Netflix subscription price increase
Last fall, Netflix announced the price for all monthly standard subscriptions would increase to $9.99 as of May.
The price for a basic subscription remains the same at $7.99. The basic subscription allows for only one screen for one user compared to the standard subscription allowing for two screens for two users.
The price hike did not impact the premium subscription, which remained at $11.99 per month, allowing four users to use the account at the same time.
Netflix expected subscriber growth of 2.5 million, which ended up a drastic overestimation with their actual subscriber growth clocking in at less than 1.7 million new subscribers.
