iOS 10 introduced redesigned versions of the classic emojis as well as a handful of new additions. The classic emojis received more realistic looks, making the faces look more human.

The new additions include female athletes and professionals, new families and a rainbow flag. Apple’s reason for adding these emojis is to add more diversity to the emoji selection.
