Fall sports recap of 9/06 – 9/11

Another week of fall sports and a quick recap of the teams throughout the week of 9/06 – 9/11.

Tuesday 9/07:

The girls’ varsity field hockey team gained their 2nd win of the season against University City. A goal by Sarah Vail,10, contributed towards the team’s final score of 3-0.  

The girls’ varsity tennis team collected their first win this season against Rockwood Summit, 5-4. Each doubles team won their match, along with two single wins from Bailey Boulay, 8-3, and Ava Diekoff, 8-2. 

The girl’s JV tennis team also gained their first win against Rockwood Summit, 7-3. 

Carrying on the winning streak, boys’ freshman soccer won their 3rd game of the season against Fox High School, 2-0. 

The girls’ volleyball team traveled to Francis Howell High School and continued their winning streak and won 3-2. 

The boys’ varsity soccer opened up with a win against Windsor High School, 6-0, in the Pacific Tournament. The team broke a 3 game loss streak. 

 

Wednesday 9/8:

The girls’ varsity softball team improved to 8-0 in the regular season with a win against Northwest, 11-1. Kate Proffitt,10, gained her 1st career HS no hitter to secure the win. 

Following varsity, the JV softball team captured their 4th win against Northwest, 12-2. Improving the team to 4-1.

The freshmen and JV football teams both suffered close losses against Marquette High School. Freshmen lost 21-14 while JV lost 7-6. 

 

Thursday 9/09:

Varsity girls’ volleyball stays undefeated as the team won 3-2 against Cor Jesu Academy. The JV and freshman team also won 2-1 against Cor Jesu Academy in their home opener. 

Both varsity and JV field hockey teams won against Notre Dame High School as each team won 1-0. 

The varsity boys’ soccer team continued the Pacific tournament and capped off a 3-0 night and won 2-0 against Parkway West to advance to the championship game. The goals were made by Cameron Kissel,12, and Jon Thomas Bremer, 12. 

The varsity and JV girls’ tennis team both played Clayton High school and suffered close losses. Varsity went 3-6 while JV went 3-4. 

 

Friday 9/10:

The varsity girls’ tennis team took part in the Francis Howell Doubles tournament along teams Liberty, Francis Howell Central, Parkway North, and Timberland. The team did not make it to the semi-finals.

The varsity softball team took a trip to Springfield, MO and participated in the 31st Annual Ozark Fall Festival. The team went 4-1 on the weekend and won the Gold Bracket Championship after beating Springfield Kickapoo High School, 12-2. 

Improving to 5-1, JV softball had a close game against Marquette High School, but held onto the lead and won 4-3. 

In their home opener, varsity football suffered a close loss against a tough team, Hazelwood Central. The team lost 25-20 and hopes to rebound next week against rivals Lafayette. The team is 2-1 currently. 

 

Saturday 9/11:

The boys’ soccer team finished the Pacific Tournament with a 2-0 win against Washington High school to claim the championship. Goals by Cameron Kissel, 12, and Eugene Renner, 12. 

The girls’ cross country team took part in the Forest Park cross country festival. Varsity finished 5th out of 22 teams, JV finished 2nd, and freshmen won their division. Molly Rodemund,9, was the individual champion in the JV race. 

JV girls’ volleyball won the Incarnate Word Academy JV tournament.
