Previously a student at EHS, Ms. Melissa Menchella is back in the halls teaching health and personal fitness and wellness as well as coaching the girls JV field hockey and JV lacrosse teams.

Here is Ms. Menchella’s “last ten” as of Aug. 17.

Who did you last talk to on the phone?

I talked to the head field hockey coach, Mrs. Pam Riiff, about practice for tonight.

Who was the last person you hugged?

I’m not a hugger, so that’s really far back in my memory bank. I’ll go with my mom, [Mrs.] Sandy Menchella.

What is the last thing you ate?

I ate overnight oats (oats soaked overnight); peanut butter with espresso. I ate that for breakfast.

What is the last movie you watched?

I don’t have a lot of time to watch movies. I can’t even remember the last time I watched a movie. I have been watching the Olympics a lot though. The Olympics have been my go to. I really enjoy watching swimming.

What is the last concert you went to?

Probably Rascal Flatts. I went there with my twin sister, Meghan Menchella. We are highly fraternal. She has red hair and is very girly. I am brunette and athletic. It’s kind of funny.

When was the last time you laughed?

Coach Anna Voigt is pretty funny. I laugh at Coach Voigt all the time. She comes in with all these funny remarks or stories in the morning. It’s fun working with her.

When was the last time you left the state?

The last vacation I went on was at the end of summer to Syracuse, New York to go visit my family. All my family is from there. I was born and grew up in Syracuse. I also travel a lot with the lacrosse team I coach so I traveled to Naperville, Illinois. I coach a lacrosse club team for the whole high school area. Its called Brave team lacrosse. It’s a combination of all high schoolers. I coach lacrosse and field hockey here, too.

When was the last time you left the country?

I haven’t left the country before. I’m going to leave the country in December. I am going to Cancun, Mexico.

Where was the last restaurant you went to?

I went to Sugarfire. I ordered one of those special sandwiches. That is my go-to. It was a brisket pot roast sandwich with the power quinoa side. It was good.

When is the last time you rode a rollercoaster?

I babysat one summer, and we would go to Six Flags and ride roller coasters. So, I would say probably five summers ago. It’s been awhile.
