Speech and debate meeting, E2Y2 discussion and supporting a coaches battle with breast cancer

Sept. 21 to Sept. 27

Pink surrounding the field, Ed Riiff, husband of Pamela and grandfather of Hannah Daffron watches on as Daffron, varsity field hockey captain and granddaughter of Riiff, hugs Pamela Riiff, varsity field hockey assistant coach, during a halftime ceremony honoring Pamela as she continues to battle breast cancer. Riiff has been coaching field hockey for 4 years. “I thought to myself ‘Why are the girls wearing all this pink?’ then Hannah said to me, ‘We are doing different things this year,’ and then it clicked, the pink was for breast cancer,” Pamela Riiff said. “It was extremely heartwarming feeling. The best thing in the world is having these girls who care for you. Cancer is one of the worst things in life, but having these girls who care for you, it takes all your problems away. I have made a connection with each and every one of these girls. I try to have fun and listen to them and get to know them outside of the sport.”
