Dr, Eric Knost, superintendent, official statement, Feb. 10.

Today rumors and reports have circulated that students have threatened to carry out an act of violence at school tomorrow.

Mr. Charles Crouther, head principal, confirmed that there is an on-going investigation and the community would be further informed by either the district or the Eureka Police Department later this evening in a phone interview conducted tonight at 6:45, Feb. 10.

He also confirmed that he sent the following email out to staff this afternoon.

“Good evening. As some of you may already know, a situation was brought to our attention at the end of school today. This is being addressed by the Eureka Police Department, Central Office, and the Administration Team here this evening. I can assure you everything is under control. So, have a great evening and we will update you if there are any changes. We are looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow at EHS!”

He declined to comment further.

The Hub will continue to investigate and report on the matter.
