Schedule changes cause a lot of mixed emotions from students at Eureka. Branching from positive to negative, some appreciate having a brand new schedule, while others find the changes stressful. The first day of school was also stressful for most. The majority agreed that it was exciting to see friends, however they were nervous for new classes and lunch schedules.
“It’s a bit of a downgrade,” Brody Schepker, 9, said. ”I kind of miss my old classes and my old lunch.”

“I’m going to try my best to stay motivated, get my work done and get my grades up,” April Porter, 11, said.
There are many different ways students prepare for the second semester. Some prioritize going to bed early the night before the first day, and some go out and buy all new school supplies. Prioritizing self care before going back to school is something that can be collectively agreed on like watching a comfort show, listening to music or reading a favorite book.
“I mentally got in the mindset,” Haiden Antonacci, 10, said.
