On a chilly festive evening, Saturday, November 22nd, 2025, the Eureka community officially ushered in the holiday season by gathering in force at Lions Park for the highly anticipated annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting.
This small town tradition brought eureka residents together for a joyful evening of Christmas cheer, music, impressive performances, and the grand illumination of the town’s holiday centerpiece.
The park grounds were transformed into a vibrant hub of holiday activity, with an observable sense of excitement building throughout the crowd as the event got underway.
A major highlight for the younger attendees was the arrival of Santa, who took the time to greet the children and pose for pictures, accompanied by a few of his reindeer, creating a magical North Pole atmosphere for families. Throughout the evening, Eureka residents were able to warm up with complimentary hot chocolate, while children took advantage of the Santa letter station, a key fixture where they could personally drop off their carefully written wish lists directly in the postbox, bound for the North Pole.
Live entertainment was a central component of the celebration, showcasing the depth of local artistic talent. The crowd was treated to energetic dance routines performed by skilled students from both the Dance Art Dance Studio, and the Launch Pointe Dance Studio, with performers of all levels contributing to the festive atmosphere.
The air was filled with the cheerful and familiar sounds of live singing performances, alongside the much-welcomed return of the critically acclaimed Eureka High School Jazz Band, whose set added a classic touch to the evening. Local musician Micah Turnbough and sound expert Brian Hunt Audio lent their professional talents and equipment, ensuring the evening entertainment lineup was both successful and flawlessly executed.
The celebration culminated in the breathtaking moment when the magnificent community tree was illuminated, casting a brilliant holiday glow over Lions Park. This symbol of the season was made possible through the dedicated efforts of local companies, Matts Outdoor Contracting and, Big Boys Towing, working alongside Eureka Public Works, who ensured the towering tree was secured, impeccably decorated, and standing perfectly straight for the duration of the Christmas season, ultimately making the 2025 Tree Lighting a deeply memorable and successful start to the local holiday calendar.
