A familiar face is returning to Eureka High School (EHS), joining the 2026-2027 administrative team. Brent Pearson, former EHS Social Studies teacher and Journalism adviser, is back at the “Home of the Wildcats” to serve as an assistant principal, replacing Adam Ball, who is returning to Rockwood South Middle School as an assistant principal.

Pearson is a veteran of the Eureka community. Before stepping into his current leadership role, he worked as a journalist on the staff of KOMU-TV, the University of Missouri’s television station.
“I chose school administration because just like how journalism never stops, neither does being a principal,” Pearson said.
After graduating from Mizzou, Pearson spent six years in Eureka High School classrooms, where he taught history classes before moving into journalism advising. Following the completion of his doctorate at Maryville University, Pearson transitioned to Selvidge Middle School, where he served as an assistant principal for three years.
Now, Pearson brings his leadership experience and a deep-rooted passion for EHS back to the place where he started his career.
While Pearson describes his free time as limited, he enjoys sports photography and coordinating various Special Olympic events.

“Coming back to Eureka is a special moment,” Pearson said. “I’m looking forward to watching the band and orchestra perform and returning to Friday night lights.”
From the sidelines, Pearson hopes to always cheer on students and encourage high standards of rectitude.
“We don’t have to leave as best friends,” Pearson said, “but we must maintain respect for each other.”
