Congratulations to Dr. Eric Knost, current Superintendent of the Mehlville School District, who was hired at the Board of Education meeting, March 27. His position as Superintendent is scheduled to begin July 1.

Dr. Knost will replace Superintendent Terry Adams who was brought on initially as an Interim at the beginning of the 2013-14 school year.

Dr. Knost began his career in RSD, spending eight years at Woerther Elementary School as an Administrative Intern and at Marquette High School as the Director of Bands. In the years since, Dr. Knost has been an Assistant Principal at Parkway North High School and the Principal at Oakville High School in the Mehlville School District.

With a unanimous vote, the BOE approved the selection and the Superintendent salary of $235,000.

Dr. Knost was invited to speak after the appointment at the BOE meeting.

“I keep my word that I will not let you down in any way, shape or form,” Dr. Knost said at the BOE meeting. “The position is an exciting one. I plan on bringing a new level to what’s expected of the Superintendency; I like to be accountable.”
